What Our Guests Say
Testimonials & Reviews
Arthur F
Enjoyed the stay, the hospitality of Mike and Laura, and mainly the great show provided by the elephant herd that passed daily close by the cottage.
We truly had the feeling of being in the bush. The quietness of the reserve is fantastic.
Pink Panthea
Bedroom had en-suite bathroom and the lounge and kitchen were fitted with everything you could need, clean and a good supply of hot water 😉 What I enjoyed most was being outside – coffee on the stoep, taking a dip in the plunge pool, checking out the wildlife in the bush with binoculars, or simply relaxing on the grass reading a good book. The game drives would pick you up right at the cottage so it’s super convenient. Would visit the cottage again and highly recommend!

WONDERFUL COTTAGE – A little peace of heaven in the middle of the bush with a private access to a small garden fenced and a small plunge pool. The elephants are often around especially on hot days. There is even a place to braai and enjoy the fire under the stars.
Anna
GOOD STAY – The place was spacious and offered all that could be needed. Even the coals and lighters for the fire and barbeque were provided. The reserve itself was inspiring. Would strongly recommend
About Us
Mike & Laura Joseph have provided accommodation services since 2010. Many of their guests have said that they come as guests and leave as friends.
The property forms part of the Balule Nature Reserve, approximately 55000ha of African bushveld and part of the world renowned Greater Kruger National Park. With no fences between the Kruger Park proper and its neighbours, we are home to a range of wildlife, including the big 5. Whilst we are not obsessed with big5, close encounters of the natural kind are experienced with some of these magnificent species on a regular basis. We strive to give our guests the fullest bush experience in all its facets. In our view there isnot much to compare with the experience of viewing wildlife, including sometimes the big 5, up close in an open vehicle. Rest assured our guides are professional, experienced and your safety is always first in mind.
Regarding cottage accomodation, we adhere to all protocols issued by authorities. Rooms are sanitised between outgoing and incoming guests. Due to the environment, social distancing is easily maintained in a natural way. Remote infrared temperature measurements may be conducted and a private ambulance service is available if needed.
